Jonathan Ross @Jonathan Ross321 9 Follow Prediction: Al will displace social drinking within 5 years Just as alcohol is a social disinhibitor, like the Steve Martin movie Roxanne, people will use Al powered earbuds to help them socialize. At first we'll view it as creepy, but it will quickly become superior to alcohol

Jonathan Ross 9 Follow @Jonathan Ross321 Bonus: in 20 years people will think of drinking as antiquated and humorous as attending a seance. "How did people think that was a good idea?!"

Q*memic ❤ @dysmemic 3d Replying to @Jonathan Ross321 How's that gonna work, first I listen to what you have to say and then there's an awkward 10 second pause while I listen to Cyrano give me the perfect witty rejoinder?

VForever @ILZ84137184.3d Replying to @Jonathan Ross321 I am sure that the recreation activity that has existed and been practiced since at least 9,000 years ago will become completely defunct in 5 years.

@willystaley • 3d 26 year old who doesn't really want to be talking to me: So...uhh....what's parenthood like? Me [repeating what my Grok Al earpiece just said after an unnaturally long pause]: It's flipping awesomesauce. But also, it can be hard. That's what she said!

Drew McWeeny @Drew McWeeny 3d So does everyone working in Al just not understand human beings on a fundamental level? Is that the problem? This is such a worm-brained take and I am not remotely shocked that he's one of the snake oil manufacturers.

Rory Blank @BoneJail 3d This is just so depressing. I'm an extremely shy person and absolutely revolted by the idea of having Al do my smalltalk for me. Do people really think that humans want to literally give up all agency in their lives and become a babbling sock puppet for an auto-correct?
  • 19
Dan Brooks @DangerBrooks • 3d I would be less hostile to Al if people would stop predicting that it will remake life around the needs of dorks.
  • 20
cosmic jester @cosmicjester • 3d Things like this and the bumble founder saying we can send our Al out on dates so that humans don't have to date really shows that these tech nerds view basic human interactions as inefficiencies that we should tech our way out of. We need to start bullying nerds again.
